Imagine every piece of art you saw, and every song you sang along to, was made by someone who lived somewhere near you.

No more world tours for billionaires on private jets.

No more parasocial relationships with ideas of figures you will never meet.

No more programming that doesn't reflect your community's values.

Anything recorded, you could go see live. Every dollar you spent, given back to people you care for.

You could find art from elsewhere. You would have to travel to go there. No more tours means no more festivals in the desert.

If an artist wants a large audience, they would move to a large city. If they prefer the community of their hometown, then their hometown is blessed with their presence. The crowd would follow and congregate, building cities together.

When an artist dies, they may have their work reproduced and transmitted around the world, with their estate's permission. Everyone would learn from the artists of the past. Fans turned academics and critics collaboratively assemble a cultural canon, drawing insights from the oeuvres of the deceased.

To impact the world and make their ideas timeless, an artist must first impact their community with the time they have.

Leave the superstar behind.
